Nox Intempesta/Dammanus Dominum/Folter Records/1999 CD Review

Nox Intempesta where  a band from Germany that played a very fast and brutal form of black metal with a death metal edge and this is a review of their 1999 album "Dammanus Dominum" which was released by Folter Records.

Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with a good amount of blast beats being thrown in at times, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful tone with riffs that combine influences from both black and death metal and the instrument dominates throughout the recording.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast black metal riffing that also combines influences from brutal death metal and thrash metal in addition to some melodic riffing being thrown in at times, while the lead guitars are very distorted sounding leads that combine death with black metal.

Vocals are a mixture of high pitched black metal screams and deep death metal growls with some spoken word ritual passages being used on the last song, while the lyrics are written in a mixture of German and English with themes that cover Satanism, Occultism, Darkness and Anti Christianity, as for the production it has a very dark and raw feel while still professional enough to the point where you can hear all of the musical instruments.

In my opinion Nex Inntempesta where a very good occultic/satanic black metal band with a death metal edge and if you are a fan of this style, you should check out this band. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "In Clairvoyant Flesh" "Coldstone Sacrificial" "De Bermis Mysteriis" and "Speculum Spagyria Satana". RECOMMENDED BUY.
