Nidingr/Sodomize The Priest/1996 Demo Review

Nidingr are a band from Norway that has had their recent album interviewed as well as being interviewed by this zine and on this recording they played some raw and primitive anti christian Norwegian black metal and this is a review of their 1996 demo "Sodomize The Priest".

Drums range from slow, mid paced to fast drumming with some blast beats being thrown in at times, while the bass playing has a very strong and powerful tone with riffs that dominate throughout the recording.

Rhythm guitars range from slow, mid paced to fast Norwegian style raw and primitive black metal riffs which are more raw sounding than the current material and there are no guitar solos or leads present on this recording.

Vocals are all high pitched black metal screams, while the lyrics are written in Norwegian with a couple of songs written in English which cover hateful, anti christian and occult themes, as for the production it has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it.

In my opinion this was a great demo from Nidingr which is alot more raw and primitive sounding than their newer material and if you are a fan of 90's Norwegian black metal, you should check out this demo. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Another Day In Grief" "Morkets Offer" and "The Spell Of The Trees". RECOMMENDED BUY.
