Inferion/Aborted By The Sun/2012 EP Review

Inferion are  a  band  from  Florida  that  has  been  featured  before  in  this  zine  that  played  a  very  fast and  aggressive  form  of  black  metal  with  their  newer material  but  utilized  more  elements  of  melodic  death  metal  with  this  recording  which  is  originally  recorded  in  2003  but  re-recorded  this  year  and  this  is  a  review  of  their  self  released  2012  ep  "Aborted  By  The  Sun".

Drums  range  from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  drumming  with  a  good  amount  of  blast  beats  being  thrown  into  the  music,  while  the  bass  playing  has  a  very  dark  tone  with  riffs  that  follow  the  riffing  that  is  coming  out  of  the  guitars.

Rhythm  guitars  range from  slow,  mid  paced  to  fast  melodic  death  metal  riffs  which  have  only  a  small  amount  of  black  metal which  is  presented  on their  new  material  and  there  are  little to  no  guitar  solos  or  leads presented  on  this  recording.

Vocals  are  all  deep  death  metal growls  with  none  of  the  black  metal screams  of  the  newer  material,  while  the  lyrics  cover  dark  themes,  as  for  the  production  it  has  a  very  strong  and  powerful  sound.

In  my  opinion  this  is  a great  recording  from  Inferion  and  while  it  wont  appeal  to  some  of  the  black  metal  fans  of  the  new  material,  i  can  see  fans  of  aggressive  and  melodic  death  metal  enjoying  this  ep.  RECOMMENDED  TRACKS  INCLUDE  "Aborted  By  The  Sun"  and  "My  Hydrogen  Bomb".  RECOMMENDED  BUY.
