Adventum Diaboli are a band from Greece that plays a form of occult black metal that mixes old school with depressive and ambient elements and this is a review of their self released 2013 album "Luciferium".
"Burn The Church" which is also the first song on the album opens up with ritualistic synths and a minute alter black metal guitar riffs kick in along with drums and a few seconds alter grim screams start coming into the song and the music sticks to a mid paced direction and after a few minutes classical music style synths come in for a few seconds before reverting back to its normal pace.
"Regenerationis Diaboli" starts up with heavy guitars and drums along with some avant garde style synths and a few seconds later grim black metal vocals are added into the song and the song is mostly mid paced to slow.
"Right Hand Of The Anti God" begins with slow and heavy old school black metal guitar riffs and drums and a few seconds alter vocals start to kick in as well as the drums utilizing more power with the song not being either fast or slow and towards the end there is a brief use of guitar leads.
"2nd Legion" opens up with some voices in the background before adding in some guitar riffs, drums and grim vocals as well as going into a mid paced direction and halfway through the song t here is a brief use of melodic guitar leads and spoken word parts.
'Goat Of Mendes" comes in with background noises and a few seconds later black metal screams, guitars and drums kick in and the riffing is very raw and old school in sound and at time s the drums speed up for a few seconds.
'Bestial Flame" makes it way in with some evil laughter and a few seconds later depressive black metal guitar riffs, d rums and grim vocals kick in and the goes into a mid paced direction and after a couple of minutes dark sounding melodies start coming out of the guitar before reverting back to its normal pace.
"Black Holocaust" is introduced with grim black metal s creams and slow yet dark guitar riffing as well as background whispers and a minute alter drums kick in and the song goes into an old school black metal direction.
"Medusa's Heart Outro" closes the album with classical music style synths and halfway through tribal style drums are added in
Song lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism and Anti Christian themes, while the production has has a very dark, raw and primitive sound to it.
In my opinion Adventum Diaboli are a very great sounding occult black metal band and if you are a fan of this musical genre, you should check out this album. RECOMMENDED TRACKS INCLUDE "Burn The Church" "Right Hand Of The Anti God" and "Black Holocaust". RECOMMENDED BUY.
