Adversum Interview

1.For those that have never heard of you before, can you tell us a little bit about the band?

In 2015 I started with MDB the Black Metal band Adversum with the purpose to manifest the wrath and voice of Satan.

2.In June you had released your first album, how would you describe the musical sound that is presented on the recording?

Aggressively devastating and nobly atmospheric. There are often changing moments within the songs. From nocturnal melodies to disharmony or from storms to silence. Reflecting our philosophy there was born a powerful sound.

3.Your lyrics cover Satanism, Occultism, and Left Hand Path themes, can you tell us a little bit more about your interests in the black arts?

The lyrics of my songs and my past and present occult workings are two different things. Sure the essence of my ideology covers my lyrics but they are based less on occult/ritual workings but rather on philosophy of life and death. Not to be but to become. To rise and become god of yourself. Satan is the giver of this freedom and power. He is the way to destroy the moral limits. What christians and other subhumans call charity and mercy are elements which restrict and weaken the strong. Not to mention the fucking original sin. According to the development the strong man unleashes the wolf in heart and don’t let be stopped by any borderlines of the mundane worms and their fucking world. Enlightened by the black flame of Lucifer the sons of darkness shall inject their children the sinister blood illumination. It’s our duty to rise over the pathetic status quo and transform it through chaos into a new light.

4.What is the meaning and inspiration behind the name 'Adversum'?

It is the opposite direction and has inspired me as a synonym for rebellion.

5.Currently there are only 2 members in the band, are you open to adding other members or do you prefer to remain a duo?

No, I am looking for a further lead guitarist.

6.The album was released on 'Inferna Profundus Records' are you happy with the support they have given you so far?

Absolutely, IPR did and do a great job!

7.On a worldwide level how has the feedback been to your music by fans of black metal?

Every feedback and review I have heard or read so far were positive. The only negative point I have read in a review was about the short playing time of the album. But it’s not so bad. We give a shit on standards and decide the length of our albums ourself.

8.Can you tell us a little bit more about the artwork on the album cover?

The coverartwork unites elements of the song lyrics. Serpent Satan the watcher, Lucifer, Azazel, Samael the rebelling angels. The eclipse of stars and Adversum’s thirteenfold trident as the infernal weapon for total death to this world. The sun behind it shines for a new age.

9.Where do you see the band heading into musically during the future?

Currently we are working on the next album. The next release will be a single with two new tracks.

10.What are some of the bands or musical styles that have had an influence on your music and also what are you listening to nowadays?

The most influence was the 90ies Black Metal for the music of Adversum. Religious and occult Black and Death Metal.

11.What are some of your non musical interests?

To enjoy triumphs and victories.

12.Before we wrap up this interview, do you have any final words or thoughts?

Thank you for the interview. Hail Satan!
